Reflux ???

My LO is 8 weeks old.  She is taking about four ounces of formula every three-four hours. 

About a week ago she developed a cold, with a stuffy nose and a cough.   She went to the DR and its not in her chest or anything.   The stuffy nose is gone, but the cough is still there but now it is mostly when she is eating. She seems to gag and then start this coughing spell where she sometimes spits up a lot of the formula

 

Around the same time she got the cold, we switched from name brand formula to the generic Sams club brand.  Do you think it could be reflux or is it probably just the remnants of the cold.

Should I try a different formula (sensitive stomach)??

If she's still coughing, it's probably still the cold.  Does she have any other reflux symptoms?

What size nipple are you using? It kind of sounds like the formula is coming out too fast for her.

Hey Rachel! Gavin has AR.  He gags after he eats but didn't start spitting up until about 2 weeks ago.  The formula might be it but switching formulas around can also mess up their tummies.  The coughing could be coming from what a PP said about the nipple being the wrong size also.  Gavin is on SImilac alimentum which has broken down milk proteins.  If you sit her up, does it stop the coughing and spitting up? Gavin takes breastmilk and formula and the formula really makes him spit up no matter what.  Not sure but if it continues you should call your pedi because they can do tests.   They asked me if e was arching his back after feeds, crying, coughing, gagging and mouthing like he had a bad taste in his mouth.
