We are going to start using cloth diapers on my son soon (they are still HUGE on him as he's a tiny guy). We already have 12 bum genius 4.0 diapers and I am considering trying out the Flip diapers instead (I like that you don't have to stuff the flips, can reuse cover and have the option of a disposable insert). I have a few questions if anyone can help:
1. Flip diaper reviews - are they as good as they seem?
2. Can you use the microfiber and hemp inserts from BG in the Flip diapers?
3. If I decide to switch to Flip, any recs on how to get rid of the BG? Ebay? Post on bump?
4. Any other comments on either are welcome.
Thanks in advance for the help!!!
Re: Flip Diapers vs. Bum Genius?
Most of the time, you can lay any insert or prefold into any cover and use it that way. For instance, we use SoftBums inserts into Grovia, Thirsties and Fuzzibuns covers. The Thirsties and FB are all pocket style, but I just lay the insert into the diaper (unstuffed!). All of them are designed of use with their inserts, but I prefer the SoftBums better. So that's what I use.
As far as selling your BGs, you could post on here, Hyena Cart https://hyenacart.com/stores/Spots_corner/ or ebay.
I would consider keeping just a few of the BGs. Sometimes its nice to have a few different cover options.
CDs were the only baby thing I was excited about. Most people love picking out onsies or nursery gear- not me. I was/am obsessed with the poo catchers.
I still won't leave the house with DS in a Flip. We have leak problems with them. I love my 4.0. I wish I only had them.
Also we tried a weekend trip with disposable Flip inserts and it was horrible. I spent the trip cleaning poop out of covers in the hotel sink and hoping they dried quickly.
