Need Rec: Cool Baby Shower Game

I'm hosting a baby shower for my sister this weekend and I want to do one really neat baby shower game where I'll have a nice prize for the winner.  I've been looking online and havne't found any I love.  I want it to be fun where ppl will want to play, but not too involved where you need too many props, etc.

Ideas??

  • I don't know how neat it is, but we played a different game to me at a baby shower I went to last weekend. You list the word for 'baby' in different languages in one column and list the languages in the other column, then have the guests match up the correct word w/ the language. It was fun to me! Wink

  • Oh, I also did a fun one for my friend's baby shower a couple of years ago. I made a playlist of songs related to babies and played just the first few seconds of each one. Guests had to name the song and artist (one point for title, one point for artist).

My sister did this for my baby shower and everyone seemed to really enjoy it.

  • This one requires a lot of "props", but they are actually gifts for the mother to be.  You get a laundry basket and fill it with baby items (diapers, wipes, pacifiers, bibs, etc.) and have the guests keep a running total of the cost.  You go through the prices at the end and whoever comes the closest without going over is the winner.  Everyone is involved in the game, and the mother to be gets to take home the baby stuff.

  • The two games I've done for the showers I've thrown that have gone over the best:

You get together the guest list and make a list of all of the guest's names meanings and then do a pair them up type game.  Everyone had fun with it and we had the one who got the most right get a prize.

There was a list of baby related words and then a blank line.  You have the mom (or mom and dad - I hosted a couples shower) fill out the first word that comes to mind before the shower.  Then you have the guests do it at the shower and see who can come up with the same words as the mom-to-be.  (Examples would be "Mommy's little ____", "Baby's ____", "First _____", etc etc)

  • Print out sheets with pictures of animals on it - the guests try to see how many of them they can name the babies for (ex: a cow's baby is a calf).  I had all sorts of things on there - mosquitos, alligators, kangaroos, etc. - not just the easy ones (though, there were some of them on there too).  It was pretty effortless on my part but the guests seemed to enjoy it.

  • THANKS LADIES!  These are all good ideas!  It'll actually be hard picking just one.  I'll share with my mom to get her opinion.  Thanks again!
