diaper rash, fav cream?

What works for you? My LO had never had a rash, just a little pink and a wipe of butt paste always got rid of it in one diaper change. BUT since Thursday she has a two red spots that I can't get rid of. I bought California baby on Saturday, but so far it seems the same. THANKS!

Triple Paste has been a lifesaver (or a buttsaver I should say) for us. It's more expensive, but so worth it. I have one of the big jars and it's still half full and I bought it when my son was born (he's now almost 21 months) - so it lasts.

We first used Desitin, but found that A&D worked better for our LO.

My LO got diaper rash pretty early on at 2 weeks.  I think he just has really sensitive skin and the diaper brand contributed to his rash, too.  We ended up switching to Earth's Best since they're chlorine-free/dye-free/fragrance-free.

I'd try the Triple Paste.  Initially we were using A & D ointment and then Bordeaux's Butt Paste but neither seemed to help clear his rash.  We have since tried other things, too, which have seemed to help.  Let your LO's butt air dry as much as you can.  We use a hair dryer on low setting and use the "cool shot" to air dry his bottom.  Pedi also recommended getting a bottle of Maalox or Mylanta (the non-mint kind, as the mint will burn LO's bottom) and dabbing it on with a cotton ball.  The Mylanta/Maalox is supposed to neutralize the acidity from the pee/poop.  You follow the Mylanta with some A & D or Triple Paste.

Calmoseptine. We use it at the hospital...love it on my kids.  You have to ask the pharmacist as it is stored with them. It is only $8. for a 4oz tube.

We had issues with DD and so went thru a lot of diaper cream!  Our favorite (although spendy) is Burts Bees.  You don't use much so a tube lasts forever.  When she's bad we also use Aquafor.

It is amazing. I highly recommend it. I put it on when little one looks a little red. Gone by the next diaper change.

No diaper rash thus far but I always put a thick layer of Desitin on her bottom at night because she sleeps longer and I do not wake her for diaper changes unless she has a BM.
