Hello I've been lurking since I was about four weeks but finally decided to come out of hiding. I won't call the little one an "oops" baby, but... he/she was indeed a surprise. I'm twenty-one and this is my husband (who's 24) and I's first pregnancy. We're both in the Army, and on Feb 22nd (our second OB appointment) we'll finally be able to hear baby's heartbeat! I have the oddest questions come and go, my newest one being:

This early, does it matter if I sleep on my back versus sides? I was told to one sleep on my sides from now on. (Belly doesn't matter because I've never been a belly sleeper..)

No it doesn't. Later on when the baby is bigger the weight of the baby when you sleep on your back cut's off blood flow to some vein in your back (sorry can not remember any of the techical terms!)

We are due date buddies! I also have an appt on the 22nd to hear the baby's heartbeat. Congrats!

If you didn't know this already, the only reason you might want or need to sleep on your side this early is if you get the dizzies. If that is the case you would want to sleep on your left side to increase blood flow to your heart and brain.
