Those on Weight Watchers...

If you wouldn't mind, could you post what a typical daily meal plan looks like for you? Also, how long have you done it and how successful have you been?

 Thanks!

Re: Those on Weight Watchers...

  • I get 26 dailies and this is pretty typical of what my days look like:

B: Egg white omelette with cheddar and tons of veggies and iced coffee with skim or steel cut oats with fruit and the coffee with skim

L: Salad with chicken and cheese and low fat or fat free dressing and 1 cup vegetable soup or a Smart Ones or leftovers from dinner the night before (see below for ideas)

    S: Yogurt, fruit

D: Chicken, fish or beef, veggies, potato/rice (I get an oil in here but I'm not always great about a second oil), or a stir fry, or homemade pizza with veggies and a salad

S: Latte made with half a cup skim or a VitaTop with peanut butter & milk

ETA: I'm going into my 4th week and have lost 3.4 pounds in those three weeks.  I generally dip into my weeklies by using 1 or 2 some days if I need them.  I'm short and don't have a lot to lose so I can't use many.  I also don't do great with exercise and could probably use more if I worked out more.  Right now I'm getting in 30-60 minutes of exercise on Saturday and Sunday but haven't done weekday exercise yet.

  • I also get 26 daily points.

For breakfast, I usually eat an egg in some for and some fruit.  I made a bunch of breakfast burritos with eggs, some egg whites, chicken sausage, bell peppers, mushrooms, spinach and onions in a whole grain tortilla/wrap.  I froze them and will have one for breakfast every few days.  The ones I made are 6PP.  Otherwise I'll eat one egg and one egg white either boiled or scrambled with a veggie.   Also a piece of fruit.  If I'm planning to go for a long run that day (6+ miles), I will eat two pieces of ww toast with natural PB and some jam.

For lunch, it varies widely.  Sometimes it is more of a snack ie. cheese and some fruit and veggies. Other times I'll make a salad with some lean meat or lunch meat, light dressing and a cup of soup.  Usually it is composed of a lean meat, and loads of veggies.

Dinners also vary widely.  I follow the same theme of lunches.  I do all my shopping at Trader Joes and am a lazy cook so I use a lot of their frozen foods.  I like their mini party meatballs and will pair it with spaghetti squash for me and real pasta for the family, and some marinara sauce.  Sometimes I'll put it straight on a bed of romaine, sounds gross, but isn't too bad.  I also like their chicken wontons and fried rice.  II'll cook those up for the family and chop up a few wontons to put on lettuce with some Goya dipping sauce as a dressing.  I usually skip the fried rice or put a quarter cup on my salad.  I also make olive pizza with their fresh ww pizza dough and eat one piece with a large salad.  I also usually cook up a couple pounds of chicken breast early in the week and use them for lunches and dinners throughout the week.

Snacks usually consist of some combinations of fruits, veggies, and dairy.  I like string cheese and non fat Greek yogurt.  I also usually drink one non fat caramel macchiato with half flavor most days (12oz).  For dessert, I eat popcorn and/or dark chocolate.

Not every day is like this.  We still end up at McDonald's every once in a while and I will have chicken nuggets and a side salad, or we'll go out to eat.  Tonight I plan to have a piece of berry pie at my in laws, with whip cream on top :).

Lastly, I make a goal of getting 20APs a week.  I usually end up eating all my dailies, most or all of my weeklies, and some APs.  Apparently I'm a pig :).  I usually go for having 10PP left for the week.  I started at thee of November and have lost 9lbs.  With Christmas in there (I aimed to maintain), I'll take it!

Oh, I only do it online, not meetings.  Sorry that was so long!

  • I am not currently on WW, but I have had success on it before.  I went from 220lbs to 160 lbs.  I'm 5'8.  This was before DS.  I have gotten back up there in weight and am currently dieting again.  I have lost 10 lbs so far.

Here are some of my go-to things to eat:

Breakfast:  English Muffins, Oatmeal, 2-3 egg white omelet with veggies, a banana or apple.  (I normally eat one of the first three with a piece of fruit, not all of them at once.. lol)

Lunch: Grilled Chicken Breast, with veggies.  Or Grilled Chicken Salad.  Or Turkey Sandwich with yogurt and fruit.

Dinner: Chilli made with Ground Turkey.  Or soup (Love Progresso Italian Meatball) Or Grilled Chicken Breast

I ate a lot of grilled chicken, but I love chicken, so it wasn't really a sacrifice for me.  I also bought several of the WW magazines and cookbooks and they have tons of awesome recipes.  I highly recommend buying at least a magazine.
