I mostly run to Glee music. And if my spin instructor had a glee mix I'd probably go more often.
What I do like is my spin class has about 10 different genres of music to pick from. At the beginning of each class he asks everyone what they feel like listening to. I like that so we're not listening to the same set everytime. Not sure if most are like that or not since I've only been to his class.

Does anyone have any good ideas for hard, slower music for when we are climbing and not going so fast?
Dang...you're demanding. I don't do a lot of slow. even my cycling collection is pretty up-tempo and I cycle on some hilly stuff. What about some old power ballads? What about Pink Floyd? U2 also has some good music, slow and fast.
Feel the Beat, Time to Burn, Xtacy, Blade Remix - DJ Caffeine
Sandstorm - DJ Darude
You should be able to find these songs in youtube and most of them have a link to where they can be downloaded. They're all very high energy and I love running to them.

My favorite spin instructor uses classic rock (some regular, some remixes), and I always hear people saying how much they like the music in her classes (and I obviously agree). She uses some Zeppelin (Ramble On), some Doors (Love Me Two Times, I think), The Who (Baba O'Reilly), ummmmm....I will try to think of more. I do actually always enjoy LMFAO, too, even though it's not my type of music normally.

I am the workout music queen!
Van Halen (Jump, Dreams...hell...pretty much anything Van Halen)
Black Eyed Peas (Let's Get it Started).
Some of the Rhianna music is great for workouts (I love Disturbia)
GnR (Paradise City and Welcome to the Jungle). I used to play Paradise City waiting for the start of my triathlons.
LMFAO (Party Rock)
I could go on and on...
These are all good!
Britney Spears has good ones (Toxic, Circus, etc.)
DEV (Bass down low, In the dark)

Love Lady Gaga for workout music!
That's a good list, too. It is missing some Van Halen, though.
Thunderstruck: AC/DC
Crazy ***: Buck Cherry
Should I Stay or Should I Go: The Clash
Paralyzed: Finger Eleven
Paradise City: Guns N Roses
Eye of the Tiger: Survivor
Animal I Have Become: Three Days Grace
If you're looking for other genres, I'd say Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, and Rihanna have plenty of upbeat songs you can choose from.
Lady Gaga, ACDC, LMFAO, Black Eyed Peas, Rihanna, Kanye West, Michael Jackson..
Those are just some on my workout playlist. My mind changes all the time though. HTH!
Blow at High Dough: The Tragically Hip
No Time for Later: The Trews
I have no idea what genre you're looking for

For faster, high-intensity moments, try drum-and-bass music. Artists in this genre include DJ Rap, DJ Baby Anne, and LTJ Bukem.
For slower moments, try some dubstep. Dubstep artists include Skrillex and Bassnectar.
Oh, okay, I suppose you're right. The only mainstream artist in my above recommendation is Skrillex.
Here are my favorite songs to run too:
Sexy and I know it- LMFAO
Empire state of mind- Jay-Z
Tonight- Enrique Iglasias
On the Floor- Jennifer Lopz
E.T- Katy Perry
