What are you doing to combat the thrush? My midwife has me swabbing a solution of grapefruit seed extract in lo's mouth every hour and I put it on my nipples after each feeding. Same solution with some tea tree oil goes on lo's bum at each diaper change. Also washing everything lo has touched in a detergent with grapefruit seed extract. Going naked as much as possible. Anything else I could be doing? I've read some stuff on the interwebs that baking soda is a miracle cure for thrush but you can't believe everything you read on the web...
Re: Anyone else dealing with thrush?
I don't know if you use pacifiers or bottles, but I boiled those and my pump parts for 20 min after each use. Major pain, but I wasnt taking chances.. That and washing my bras/shirts on HOT with some vinegar and detergent.
As thrush thrives on sugar, I rinsed my nipples after each nursing in vinegar/water, and made sure to change pad/bra/shirt as quickly as possible after any leaking.
Good luck!!
Agree 100%. I fully attribute mine clearing up to Diflucan.
yes, shoot me, and nothing has worked so far. i'm on my 2nd rx and i've tried vinegar solutions, too. it sucks so bad.
it sounds like you're doing everything right! air out your nipples, boil bras, boil bottles (if you use, i don't know), treat the baby...
good luck! i hope you're more successful than i am lol.
