recommend a good book!

I just finished the Twilight series. I'm pretty sad it ended! Anyone have any good books or series' I can get into? TIA!

Re: recommend a good book!

  • Ever read "Good Omens"? It's a riot - Neil Gaiman (?) and Terry Pratchett. A good lighter, funny read.

Just got done "The Last Chinese Chef" by Nicole Mones - she wrote "Lost in Translation" it is good but it helps if you are a food nerd like I am.

  • My fav book of all time is A fine Banance

I also love all Wally Lamb books and all Jen lancaster books.

  • My favorite book ever is "gone with the wind" the movie sucked so if you even remotely liked the movie you will fall in love with the book.
  • James Patterson has 2 series that are both really good. One (the alex cross series) is a lot longer (I think at least 10 books so far), the other is the Women's Murder Club which was made into a tv series last year.

His books in general are pretty good. He has one romance book, Suzannes Diary for Nicholas, which is awesome. I cried a ton during that one (if you are look for a tear jerker), both times I read it :)

  • I just started Twilight today during my 3 hr glucose test...

One of my favorite books (and one my entire book club enjoyed which pretty much NEVER happens) is called The Shadow of the Wind, it's by Carlos Ruiz Zafon (I think I spelled that right...).  If you read the description, it doesn't sound all that interesting, but it really is a good book - there's some mystery, a couple of parallel love stories, themes of friendship as well - there's truly something for everyone.

  • I love Jodi Piccoult books!!  Any of them is good (Some of my favorites-My Sister's Keeper & The Pact).  I also read some of Emily Giffin books. Very "chick" but very good.
