Why doesn't the post office...

have drive-thru windows at all their locations? Seriously, it's so annoying having to take DS out of his seat, carry him and the package(s) in, and wait in line with a toddler that wants to get down (now!). Today while I was there another mother stopped me on the way in, gave me a dollar, and asked if I would buy a stamp for her because she had two babies in the car and didn't want to take them out just to go in for 1 stamp. It'd be awesome to just roll up to the window, hand over my packages and money, and drive off. In my hometown, there's post office services in the grocery store which is awesome because then you can put the kid and the packages in the cart but we don't have any of that around here.

I wonder the same exact thing every other day on my PO trips.  I happen to be SUPER lucky in that my local PO has the nicest ladies ever working there, all of them know Ezra by name and they're awesome and helpful and great... but it still totally blows having to take him in and out while balancing packages.

OMG I KNOW! Someone needs to invent that ASAP.

Our post office only has parking across a busy street, so if I stop there when I have C I also have to run across the street with him. Joy. :-/

I was just thinking that last week! I wanted to stop there and grab lunch but DS was being such a bear that I didn't dare make another stop where I had to take him out of the car seat.

Can you put DS in the stroller & put the packages in the basket? I hate having to carry DS when running errands b/c he turns into a ton of bricks in like 5 seconds!

There's a Subway with a drive-thru about 45-50 minutes from us. I wish we had one! People would probably make healthier (in comparison) fast food choices if more of these places had drive-thrus. Even if it was just a modified menu with ready-made sandwiches, cups of soup, salads, etc. (like at Panera). I mean, even though McDs has salads, I'm still buying fries to go with it! lol

Ours does! It's technically just for prescriptions, but if you need additional OTC pharmacy things, they'll get them for you.

I could, and would if it was really hard to carry both of them, but I guess a lot of times I'm just lazy and don't feel like taking the time to get the stroller out, either, lol. It's not so bad at our post office here because it's small and usually not crowded but when I have to go to the bigger one it's like a minimum 10-minute wait in line. I had to take him there the other day because they do passport photos and ours doesn't. I just kept him looking out the window at the "dogs" which weren't really there.

We don't have a CVS, but we have a Walgreens with a drive-thru (through?) for prescriptions.  It's the entire reason we use that pharmacy!

I know of one that does, but isn't it only for prescriptions? Besides, I usually have to pick up photos, buy a birthday card, or get hair dye. Can they do that for me?

I have to agree with everything said in this post! I used to stop every morning at the same place for coffee (no drive thru). Now I just bring coffee from home because its such a PITA to take DS in with me! I miss my old morning coffee

I didn't read all of the replies - but I actually work at the post office.  I carry stamps with me which people can buy - they leave a check in the mailbox.  We can also mail out most packages so you don't have to go the actual post office yourself.  If you ever see your mail carrier ask him/her about it and save yourself some hassle and time.
