Thong vs strap opinions please

I'm going to Mexico and have a gift card for $150 to use at Aldo. I need sandals. Usually I just buy $2 flip flops from old navy. But since I have that card & would like slightly better support being pregnant..... Which kind are better ? 

Just wondering like how swollen my feet might get, should I maybe not have a strap as to not be able to get foot in shoe? Or thong might be worse for some reason?

Thoughts?

I would say go with sandals with straps, you should be able to adjust them if your feet get swollen.

I wore flip flops for my entire pregnancy. Even in winter. My feet were so swollen that I couldn't put my running shoes on, even unlaced. Flip flops are my suggestion. Just make sure to get ones with thicker soles.
