Visited my Doc today

So I went to visit my doctor today to let her know we were TTC and to see if she had any recommendations concerns, etc.  All went well and she actually called in a prenatal prescription for me.  She said pharmacy's have $4 prescription prenatal's..nice to know after I paid $25 for OTC one!  I had her call me a prescription in anyway for when I finish the ones I currently take.  Might be helpful if you are trying to pinch penny's and save up for a little one like us!!

My prescription ones were $51.00! I am just going to finish the samples the doctor gave me and switch to natures made that I can get at costco! $4.00 is a great price!

It does depend in your coverage. My doctor called in generic too, but they would of been $45.00.

But I'm pretty sure the amount you pay for prescriptions depends on your insurance coverage.  Ladies, correct me if I'm wrong please.

There's a prenatal on the generic drug list at the pharmacy I work at for around $4. It's only one kind though.

Yes it does depend on your coverage you are correct.  The reason this came up in my doctors visit is because her nursing student works at another office and there are specific prenatals that are priced lower.  It's not every brand, there are only 2 that are offered at Walgreens that are the $4 option and could be a little more depending on your insurance.

I got the prescription ones at first, but they made me super nauseous. I ended up with the Target (Up and Up) gummies for about 7 dollars. They have the DHA and Folic Acid my OB wanted me to have, and they also taste good!

 

I second this.  I have been taking the Vitafusion Prenatal Gummy Vitamins and they have the least side effects for me.

Check the label in the gummy vitamins to make sure they have iron. I have a friend who was taking them and they had no iron in them. My mom was also taking a multivitamin and it too had no iron.
