My LO eats anywhere from 2-3 oz per feeding and occasionally cluster feeds and will eat 4 oz in a period of 3 hours. Our pediatrician recommended we try to keep her at 2 oz but I'm going to feed my baby as much as she wants when she is hungry. It's not possible to overfeed your newborn right? She'll stop eating when she's full?
She also hasn't been burping after feelings because she falls asleep right away and has thrown up a couple times. I try to take breaks I'm between ounces and burp her but still nothing.
Re: Over feeding? And burping issues.
The throwing up can mean she's eating too much. Babies this young have a stron urge to suck a lot. Maybe try 2 oz and then take a short break, maybe offer a pacifier instead so she can suck without eating too much. If she's still rooting after a few minutes then try offering another half ounce.

I would feed her when she's hungry. Like PP said though, sometimes babies want to suck and not eat which can be misleading.
What kind of bottles do you use? We just switched from Avent to Dr Browns which I think has helped DS with eating until his full instead of eating just because there's a bottle in his mouth. The nipple makes is harder for milk to come out so he really has to work for it if he's hungry (similar to as if he was on the breast).
DS would overeat and throw up as a newborn, and it turned out it was because of reflux. The refulx hurt, and eating made it feel better, but being full made it worse, so it's a vicious cycle.
