? for those with 3 kid's(or who want 3)

We have a 22 month old and an 8 month old (yes, very busy!) ;)  DH just

told me last night that he feels like he might want to have one more (not immediately though)... I'm just curious how far apart you had/will have your 3 kid's and what you think would be easiest?

  • We plan on waiting three years or so between the second and third.

  • 2-3 years inbetween 2 and3

  • My first two are 10 years apart.  Our current plan is to have #2 and #3 be 2.5 - 3 years apart.
  • If we do go for #3, we will TTC when #2 is 2.  So they would be 2.5-3 years apart.

  • If we have a third, it won't be for another 2-3 years.  Longer than I'd ideally like between #2 and #3, but it's the only realistic way for it to happen.

ETA: That means there will be 3-4 yrs between #2 and #3.  #1 and #2 are about 2 yrs apart.

  • There are 2.5 years between #1 and #2 (we were trying for 2 years apart, but it didn't work out that way).  We are planning for #2 and #3 to be 2-3 years apart.
  • Hopefully, they will be about 3ish years apart

L was 4 months when I got pg with twins.  They are 1 yr 10days apart. (not planned)  We are now thinking about #4 when these 3 are around 5-6 or maybe older.  Not afraid of the big age gap.  :)

I think having 3 so close is really easy.  They are all doing the same thing (almost) and have the same interest in toys, tv, etc.  Sure it is hectic having 3 toddlers but so much fun at times.  So far it hasnt been bad but L has reached his terrible 3s and is really testing my patients.  His 2s were easy (as are the girls) but 2 or 3 weeks after he turned 3 he turned into a different child.  (aka monster..ok, that might be stretching it)

    But overall it is great.

  • DS is 6, DD#1 just turned 2 and DD#2 is 7 1/2 months. DS has always been a huge help with the girls and experienced very little jealousy with either.  DD#1 LOVES her baby sister and kisses her all the time!

While this works for us, my dream was to have 3 years between 3!

  • #1 and #2 were 17 months apart, #2 and #3 are 24 1/2 months apart, so I have 3 under 4.  Closer than planned.  I really don't recommend it.  They are kicking my butt.  I'm tired.  I think 3 years apart is good.  The first is in school and second in preschool before the last arrives.

  • #1 & #2 are 27.5mo apart.  #2 & #3 are gonna be 29mo apart.  Not planned, just the way it happened.
