Babies: 0 - 3 Months

I don't think LO is getting enough to eat...what to do?

I don't think DS is getting enough to eat. He went through about two weeks where he was cluster feeding and was eating close to 30 ounces a day. During this time he was sleeping really well at night too. Now his intake has dropped way off and he isn't sleeping quite as well. Yesterday he only ate about 21 ounces. I was wondering should I be increasing how much he eats to make sure that he gets at least 25 ounces? Right now he is eating 4 ounce bottles approximately every 4 hours. Should I increase the bottle to 5 ounces or maybe cut down the time in between feedings to 3 hours? I worry though if I lower the time to 3 hours during the day, during the night will he want to get up at 3 hours instead of 4 or 5?

  • We FF and make more ounces then she will eat so we know she is eating enough...we feed until she is full and doesn't want any more.

  • Babies go through growth spurts. Sounds like he went through his 6 weeks growth spurt. In time he'll eat more but it sounds like he's back to his normal intake.
