LO to sleep alone?

so i really want to get to to sleeping without being held. last night i tried for an hour to get to to sleep in her little bed in our bed type thing and she wouldnt, so i put her next to me resting her head on my arm - she was out in less than a minute! <3 i love it but i dont want to snuggle with her all night, im scared i will end up hurting her. anyone have to overcome this? im trying to put her down more during the day (as hard as it is!)

  • We usually wait until DD is asleep before putting her down.  When she wakes up we let her stay in the PNP for a few minutes (as long as she's in a good mood) so she gets used to being in there awake.  Sometimes we can put her in the swing semi-asleep and she'll fall asleep on her own, and the same with the bouncer.  She's just not quite ready for the PNP or crib on her own yet.  Your little one will get there!  Just keep trying :)

  • I was really worried about that in the beginning as well.  I told myself that in the first month, I would do whatever got her to sleep and then I would worry about it when she was older.  So I didn't put her down to sleep in her bassinet until she had fallen asleep in my arms for the first month.  Then one day she woke herself up after I put her down, I waited and she fell back to sleep on her own.  I took that as a sign that she could go to sleep on her own.  For the last two weeks now, she has gone to sleep on her own when I put her down drowsy.  So, my rookie advice, wait for your lo to give you as sign that she is ready.  Otherwise, enjoy cuddling because I don't believe that you can spoil an infant!

this. DD usually falls asleep with one of us or under her play mat and then we move her to her PNP which is in our room.  if she wakes up and is fine i just sit in the room and let her pacify herself.  we also have a projection mobile that shines on the ceiling above where she sleeps and she will watch that and fall back asleep herself.
