I don't know anyone under the age of 25 named Kevin. It's very popular among my age group, but I've never met a child with the name. How strange that it's so popular.

We have this running joke between my cousin and a friend that all Kevins are bad. Not as in bad people but just mischevious! My cousin is a Kevin and he was always up to trouble, there's the kid from Home Alone and two people I worked with had Kevins and they were always comparing Kevin stories. One that stands out vididly was one Kevin was hanging halfway out of the crawl space in the ceiling, ladder on the floor and his explanation was that he was looking for Christmas presents. It was July. That aside, I think its a great name.
DH is a Kevin.. Maybe the ranking has something to do with the Kevins of the late 70's/early 80's becoming dads and naming their sons after themselves.
I know a ton of Kevins. One is my husband. I have a 17 yo cousin, knew at least 5 throughout HS and college (I'm 25)... it goes on from there. I have a coworker who is 30 yo who just named his baby Kevin - so maybe pp is correct that Kevins are naming their kids after themselves??
Anyhow, found it odd so many are saying don't know any under 30 or 25, I know at least 8 under 30 and at least 5 under 25. Hm.

LOL
This is so true.
My dad is Kevin and STILL has that mischievous streak.
And after 5 years of teaching Catholic School, I can say I have known a LOT of Kevins, and every one has been Kevin story worthy. Before we knew our LO was a girl, my mom suggested Kevin for our boy's name, and I thought "Kevin Ferreira? That just sounds like parochial school detention waiting to happen."
Maybe it's because most Kevins are at least part Irish.
DH and I live in a heavily Irish neighborhood in Connecticut and there are at least 10 Kevins under 25 just in our 'hood.
