Update on me & the bean

Sorry I've been MIA & thank you for the kind thoughts below...I'm just catching up now.

I had my appt today (couldn't get there yesterday). I have a subchorionic hematoma, which is bleeding behind the placenta (what I was able to gather, at least). This has been the cause of my spotting/bleeding the past few days. Even though I didn't spot at all today, when the OB examined me, she said she could see I was bleeding.

She said it could go away on its own, or of course, could get worse & cause a miscarriage, so she put me on pelvic rest.

I have another appt for an ultrasound in 10 days to see how it's doing.

The good news I guess is that my estimate for the first day of my last period (we hadn't been keeping track) coincides exactly with what I was measuring at, which is 6 weeks, 3 days. And the heartbeat was 124.

It was very surreal being back on the table looking at an ultrasound!

So I will just be taking things day by day & trying to keep my mind off of things until we know more.

Oh & she also found a fibroid that was kinda right up front that she said gets bigger with pregnancy & can cause pain during the pregnancy. joy!

Oh I'm so glad that you got to see your little person and hear a heartbeat!  I will still be crossing fingers, of course, but so far, so good, right?

Glad that you saw the little bean and heard the heartbeat. At least that is re-assuring.

Hopefully it all clears up on it's own and you are back to good in no time!

I'm so glad you and the bean are alright. Don't give the fibroid anoher thought - they "can" cause pain, or not. I had a fairly large one and it was fine. Only some minor discomfort during labor and exams when it was pushed on.

Sending lots of t&p's your way.  It sounds like you're going to have to rest it up for a little while.  My cousin had the same placenta issues and everything settled on it's own.    Hopefully that fibroid will stay put!  Either way try to focus on resting and yay for the little bean's heartbeat!!!
