Is it best to buy one before the baby comes or after I get out of the hospital and have established nursing? I have read arguments on both sides and don't know what to do. So what are you ladies doing?
I am waiting until after. I dont want to waste the money if BF doesnt work for us and I wouldnt introduce a bottle until she is at least 3 to 4 weeks so no need to spend the money now.
I just took the breastfeeding class last night and she said that putting more demand on your milk supply in the beginning can be helpful in ensuring that you get a good supply in general. I know I'm going to have to return to work, so I plan to pump as much as I can early on to create some stores while breastfeeding in the very beginning.
The hospital I'm delivering at sells them cheaper than BRU or Target and they have Lactation Consultants to help me decide on which one to get and if I should buy or rent first. They will visit my room at the hospital before we get discharged.
