Formula Feeders-Non Clicky Poll

What kind do you use? I have been FFing for a couple weeks now, and I think that he seems to like Gerber Good Start Gentle, but I am wondering what others seem to like and why. Thanks for the input!

Re: Formula Feeders-Non Clicky Poll

  • We were using Similac Advance and he took it and was pooping and peeing great, but he was very fussy and farted constantly - like, metronome farting for several minutes. We switched to the Target generic of Enfamil Gentlease, and he's *so* much happier most of the time, but his poops are thicker so now we're dealing with that. They're also very, very green.
  • We use Similac Sensitive for fussy babies.  We ran out once and used the Similac Advance and she was NOT a happy camper.  Her stomach seems so much better with the sensitive (we also use Mylicon for her tummy).

  • V gets Alimentum.  We kind of chose it by default.  She projectile vommed everything else she got in the NICU, my bm dried up due to multiple infections, and once she came home we tried a few formulas our pedi suggested and she spat them up too.

She still spits up the Alimentum but it's not projectile and she doesn't scream.

  • We're still feeding rtf similac organic. When we finish this case we'll switch to powder, but not sure wht we'll use. I'd like to use target brand, so we'll prtobably try their generic similac advance.

  • I'm using Similac Advance.  Haven't tried anything else with him.  That's what the pediatrician gave us samples of when we had to supplement, and it didn't seem to bother him so we just stuck with it.

  • Enfamil gentlease. She was on enfamil newborn but was very gassy on it. So we switched and she is a lot happier now. The fussiness and gas formula works great. She gets cramps/gas very easy so we use this along with the gas drops and gripe water.

  • We were given sample tubs of Enfamil Newborn, so we started with that. We've now gone through all our samples of that, and just opened the Similac sample tub, but today MIL came with a gift of 3 packages of Enfamil Gentlease. I am going to do some price/ingredient shopping with C tomorrow and see what we end up with for long term. It won't be a name brand though. C hasn't had a problem switching formula brands, so we've been lucky with that.

We used Target Up & Up with A for most of her first year. It worked for her system fine and the price was much better than the name ones.

  • We don't FF full time (nurse, pump and supplement w/ formula) but LO gets Vermont Organics (milk based, not the soy). She's had no issues with it at all. I wanted an organic formula in order to avoid rBGH/rBST.

  • M has been on enfamil newborn since birth. She hasn't had any issues with it. And next month she will switch to the enfamil infant, unless that bothers her belly. But I don't see that happening as of right now.
