My MN and my mom's MN is Leah, so I've always known if we have a daughter, her middle name would be Leah too
So then DH and I fell in love with the first name Caroline (pronounced LINE not LYNN)....
Caroline Leah??
It doesn't flow does it? How bad is the combo, really? Is it worth sacrificing the flow of the name for the family significance?
We'd otherwise use Joy as the MN. Caroline Joy. Better, right? But I really don't want to give up Leah.....
Thoughts?
EDIT: Our last name starts will an M, is two syllables, and ends in a T.
Re: Is my name just ho hum?
Caroline Joy does flow better.
But I wouldn't give up the family significance. It's much more important than flow.
How often will you actually be using her first and MN together? Will you be calling her Caroline Leah? If not, I don't think 'flow' makes too much of a difference. I would go with family significance over flow....
I never use DD's middle name, (it's my maiden name) except when I have to fill out paperwork for her. And it doesn't flow at all.....
This.
Totally agree.

It's not bad.
Yeah, the flow isn't the best..but it's by no means horrible or noticeable to 99% of the real life population.
I'd use it. They're both very pretty names and that matters to me more.
It's cute to me actually, despite the little bit of flow issue.
If it bothers you though have you considered:
Leah Caroline
Leah Joy
This, exactly. I have heard MUCH worse as far as flow goes.

Well, I'm a bit partial since my MN is Joy! However, I will add in that all my life I hated/was embarassed by my MN. In recent years (I'm 23 now) I have decided that it has grown on me. Just food for thought!
Best of luck!
PS: I love the name Caroline, stick with it absolutely!
