We had a pull-string pinata.  Othewise the kids all placed with DC's large riding toys outside.  Fortunately, we had a good day.  One activity you could have is stick the nose on the "whatever"...teddy, donkey, doggy, or even the number on the train or the car.  Just use double stick tape.

No, but we had booze for the adults.  The kids had a great time eating cake and playing with DD's toys.  We had 4 kids and about 20 adults.  We had more kids at her 1st birthday and it was a disaster.  She hated it.

We're having the kids color a monkey while we wait for our pizza to get here. Our theme is Curious George.

The "activity" I planned was for 3 girls - all age 2. I got them plain white goody bags with handles (like gift bags) and wrote their names on them. Then I gave them each a bunch of stickers to decorate their bags. They all liked it and it kept them occupied and quiet for quite a while. The other parents were quite impressed that something so simple was such a hit!
