Are you getting a flu shot?
I have honestly had the flu once in the last ten years or so. And that one time was the ONLY winter I actually got the flu shot.
I know I should get one especially because DS is too young to have one himself, but I'm afraid it'll 'jinx' me again and I will get sick. Am I a bad mama if I skip it?
Re: s/o: Flu shot
The flu can be very dangerous for infants. We're getting DD the shot at her 6 month appt.
FWIW, I got a flu shot in 8th grade and got a horrible, horrible flu shortly after-- like a few days. But I have consistently gotten the flu shot every year anyway, and have not had it since. I'm going on 11 years now. I think it was just coincidence!
yes. I had the flu shot for the first time last year and no problems. You cant get the flu from it so I'm not worried about that.
I've gotten the flu once. It was a horrible experience. I've never been so sick for so long in my life. I couldnt get out of bed it was so bad. I cant imagine being that sick and having to take care of DD and BF her. And I certainly dont want DD to get it!
If DD gets the flu this year, I don't want it to be because of me. So, I got the flu shot.
I skipped it when I was pregnant. I work from home and felt like crap all the time so I wasn't getting out. Kenley can't get one until December so we're debating this too. She doesn't go to daycare and my friends are good about keeping themselves and their kids away if they're sick.
I too had a bad reaction to the shot so I really don't want to get it. I don't know...
