Party food ideas

I know this has been posted a billion times, but humor me please.

We are having a bunch of people over on Sunday to watch the Patriots win the superbowl.  I was thinking of doing heavy apps rather than an actual meal.

 Ideas?

thanks.

  • I think that you can't go wrong with dips! LOL You could do Buffalo Chicken Dip or even wings, Spinach and Artichoke Dip in a bread bowl.
    Ridley Run 3.1 - 4/9/11 - 34:24 - 1st race evah!
    Kelly Monaghan's 5K - 5/15/11 - 3rd Place in AG
    Walk the Talk 5K - 5/18/11 - 31:12 PR
    Ridley Run 3.1 - 4/14/12 - 1st race of the year, 32:45
  • wings, chili, nachos, and I make bacon/jalepeno bits....wrap a cube of cream cheese and a slice of jalapeno in a slice of bacon and put them under the broiler.  Yummy!

  • I would do nachos with lots of toppings.  BLT dip with beer bread, some kind of taco dip, and maybe some chicken wings or boneless wings.

  • if the premise of your party is the patriots winning, i don't think you'll have much to celebrate.  but anyway.  i agree that heavy apps is a good idea, or you could also do a taco bar.  make taco beef and chicken, pork too if you want and then set out an array of toppings. provides more of a meal but still lets people graze.  you could do the same thing with baked potatoes.  put out bacon, cheese, sour cream, chives, etc.

  • These pizza bites are always a hit here, when I want to do heavy apps.  Sweet and sour meatballs (grape jelly and chili sauce) in a crockpot are good, plus dips mentioned.

  • For our Christmas party, I had:

queso dip with chips; buffalo chicken dip with baguette; spinach and artichoke dip with pumpernickel -- all hot and in crock pots

vegetable beef soup and butternut squash (vegan) soup -- also in crock pots

    potato chips

    cheese plate with crackers

veggie tray with classic onion dip

    cream cheese and pepper jelly

cookies, mini apple and peach pies, banana bread

  • We are having a party as well, here is what i'm having:

Potato skins, swedish meatballs, pulled pork nachos, mango/avocado salsa with chips, crab rangoons, wings (a few kinds), spinach/artichoke dip, and then some chicken fingers and pigs in a blanket (more for the kids). For dessert i'm just making some cookies and brownies since i'm thinking we'll be full from all the apps. Each person is bringing a fun beverage.
