Well CD90 is here I never thought I'd see it. This is my first cycle off BCP and if I had known what I know now...I would have gotten off the pill a LONG time ago! I was on the pill about 6 1/2 years.
I called my doctor at CD60 and the medical assistant wanted me to wait until CD90 to get anything. I called 2 weeks ago for an appointment because I had a suspicion I'd be here. I couldn't get in until Feb. 13th...so I have 2 more weeks to wait. I mean..I need my yearly anyway...so I'll get all that done...but it's still incredibly frustrating. I basically feel like I wasted the last 3 months.
So...I guess I'm just wondering if there are any questions I *should* be asking my doctor. I know it can take up to a year for my cycles to regulate...but is there any bloodwork or anything that *should* be done at this point? I'm not trying to give myself IF...I just want to know what I *should* be doing....other than getting Provera and seeing what happens. (If anything)
I do have hypothyroidism, but it has been controlled. When I mentioned TTC in October to my Endo..she increased by synthroid from 75mcg to 88mcg because my levels were around 4 and she mentioned that they should be around 2. So...I don't know if this has contributed to my long cycle as well? I have a follow up appointment on Feb 22nd to check my levels and all that.
Thanks for letting me rant. I know there are ladies here who have had much longer cycles and other things going on. I'm glad I joined this board though...I didn't know until I joined how involved TTC can be! Thanks ladies

Love & luck to my 3TC girls. Congrats to Omega-The boys are here!
If there's one thing I've learned while waiting my turn,
it's that in each life some rain falls but you also get some sun.
After 2 years & 2 losses, our little man arrived 8-2011.
I do have random hairs on my lower belly (below my belly button). They don't make a "love trail" or anything like that, but they are definitely there. I shave them and it's not a big deal, aesthetically. Other than that...I don't know any...other than the lack of period.
Although...
In high school I had a period...pretty much all throughout high school. Sometimes it was VERY heavy. When I finally went to the doctor about it around age 19, I remember the doctor saying something about the hairs on my belly, but at the time had no idea why. They did blood work and all that and that's how I found out about the thyroid problem. That was all they mentioned...nothing about PCOS. I'm not even sure they did tests for PCOS...but if she made note of the hair, why wouldn't she? I got on Synthroid & the pill around the same time. I definitely plan on asking about this at my appointment...just to see what she says.

So sorry to hear about CD 90!!!
I also wish I had gotten of BCP's a LONG time ago.
I have had longer cycles coming off of BCP. My first was 72 days. My second was 42 days. So they seem to be getting shorter. Although, bummer, I don't seem to be ovulating.
I made an appt with my GP at CD60. When I went in she ran blood tests to check my hormone levels. All came back OK. She told me if I don't start AF by CD90 then to come back for Provera. Luckily, AF showed up on CD72.
I too fear that I have PCOS. I have a nurse friend who insists on telling me she THINKS I have PCOS due to my body build. I told my GP of my concern/fear. She referred me to an OBGYN and sugessted I ask or request testing for PCOS. So I made an appt for February 14...the earliest they had. Happy V-day to me!
Good luck to you! I hope you are able to get some answers after your appt!

I'm almost on CD 90, so I know how it is.
I was tested for PCOS, and it came back neg, but I also have a slight hypothyroidism. But that isnt the culprit. Ask to have BW done to test prolactin, estradiol, progesterone, free testosterone, DHEA and all the other hormones like FSH. I ended up having too much free testosterone- and that can mimic other hormone imbalances and conditions. HTH!
Like you said, it's probably from this first cycle off BCP, but it's good to be thorough.
