hello, my DH and i have been TTC for almost a year now. I tried OPKs for a few months and I have been lurking and posting a little on the TTC board, but figured it wouldnt hurt to see if you all had any pointers on what you think might have really helped. I know some suggestions were green tea, pom juice, temping, etc..
TIA

Re: TTC-any pointers???
We were ttc for 7 months and every month I tried everything like others listed above. The 7th month, I decided to stop everything and it happened. Sometimes trying all sorts of things stresses you out more then you realize and can't put a brick wall in front of your goal.

Hi, similar story here. I charted temperature for a few months just to ensure that I was, in fact, ovulating and about the time of month that I was trending to ovulate. Then I stopped temping. DH was on a business trip at just the wrong time for a few months and then we just enjoyed ourselves. I didn't get my period, tested, and it came out negative for about 2 weeks straight! Finally after 3 weeks, with no period I called and scheduled an appointment with my GYN to get myself checked out and find out why I was not menstrauting (and not pregnant). That night, I felt my first pregnancy symptom, we tested again (for the first time that week) and it came out positive! I quickly changed the appointment to an OB visit. Apparently after many months of ovulating regularly, I ovulated 3 weeks late that cycle and got pregnant. Had I been trying to temp or time our sex perfectly, we may have missed the the golden opportunity
Before TTC, I would go to the bathroom after sex to help clean myself up. I stopped doing that once we were TTC and made sure to lie in bed for at least 15 minutes afterwards: No pillow behind my back, no leg raises, just lying flat. I would also recommend relaxing and enjoying yourselves. If you can, try to have sex about every other day or more often, paying more attention to one another than just TTC.
OP, I recommend charting and tracking CM and CP. Thats how we got our timing down. GL!

Have you been to see your general practitioner or OB for a check-up? It can't hurt to make sure your blood work and everything looks ok. I've had several friends who tried for awhile before learning they needed thyroid medication or had an issue that needed to be taken care of in order to be able to get pregnant.
Charting is always a good idea for people TTC, but if there is an underlying issue that needs to be checked out, it can save you a lot of frustration.
This doesn't make any sense to me. If you had been temping then you would have known that you ovulated later than normal and would have known not to test for those two weeks. My personal opinion is that consistently taking your temperature is the best way to know what's going on with your body and to get pregnant. (Assuming there are no serious fertility issues that require medical intervention with either partner.)
I also agree that suggesting that "relaxing" can help someone get pregnant could end up in an exercise of futility for them and isn't helpful.
