Vitamin supplements for breastfeeding?

Our pediatrician wants LO to get vitamins every day. I have heard of Vitamin D drops, but he wants him on all kinds.

He recommended Poly-Vis-Sol Drops with Iron.

Is anyone else doing this? It seems very weird to me to put him on so much.

    We're currently supplementing Vit D and the pediatrician mentioned changing to a multi-vitamin supplement when she's a little older.

    Yup, we have LO on Vitamin D drops. I don't think they need the ones with iron at this point. My husband is a pharmacist and has looked into this - he said that they shouldn't need the extra iron until they start on solid food. Of course, I guess you might want to follow whatever your pediatrician says (my husband is no expert, just someone who likes to educate himself on every possible subject lol), but LO should get what he needs from you if you are exclusively BFing.

    Our pedi suggested we start doing the poly vi-sol drops since we are BFing as well. LO definitely isnt a fan of the taste I can tell you that!

    Is this on top of a prenatal vitamin? I am taking my prenatal still... but I guess I'll ask the ped at our appt on Thursday.
