So, evidently eating right, maintaining a healthy weight/BMI, and exercising are NOT enough.
My TC was 253, my LDL was 162.
I'm only 20, and I'm already a candidate for a lipitor commercial. Nice.?
On a serious note, I am very concerned because my maternal grandmother died at 39 of a heart attack. I'm middle aged.
Re: Ouch! Cholesterol Levels
See, I had read that pg women have screwy levels, but the np giving me the screen assured me that wasn't true. *goes to google answer*
Do you think it would help if I stopped just sitting on the couch eating sticks of butter? ;-)?
don't worry, i do health education for a living, my husband has ldl at 160 too. with no other risk factors the goal is 160. for most people (with one or more risk factors) it's 130, for diabetics it's 100
i have middle age problems too. you sound just like me. it seems like every health problem that arises i learn that it normally doesn't until middle age.
just do what you can do, and if the ldl continues to rise through the years, 10 mg of lipitor is no big deal. just genetics.
