Watery eyes in the morning

My little one in 3 1/2 months and for the last 2 morning she has woken up with watery boogery eyes. Her eyes are fine throughout the day, they're not red of anything. It's just in the morning as she wakes up. What could this be? Thank you!

My son has a clogged tear duct, only on one side, and this is how he wakes up.  When he's awake and I've cleaned it out with a warm wet compress he's fine...it's after any sleep that I notice it.  Maybe google to see if it seems to fit the bill for your LO or put a call in to the pedi to see if they think it could be that.  If so, they just have you clean it out like I said and then during feedings or cuddle time I use my ring finger to gently push under the eye in a motion in toward the nose and up toward the tear duct.  The more I manage to do this during the day, the better his eye is the next morning.  GL and I HTH!
