I heard this name today on Car Talk.  It was a man from South Dakota.  He said that he's probably the only one and that he had no idea what his parents were thinking.  He joked that he guessed one of them stuttered or something!

Maybe they were just trying to be you-neek?!

ETA:  It was prounounced just like Jody (Jo-Dee).

Jody is one of those male names that went to the girls years ago, like Shannon and Ashley.  I still meet random male Jody's every now and again.

Joddy, is just a really bad spelling.
