Marek? + middle name question

What's your opinion of Marek? I'm Polish, SO is Irish.

SO's middle name is Axson, and it's also a family name on his side.

So Marek Axson Mc_?

I have never heard this name (Marek) before, but I like it a lot. It's kind of awkward with a Mc_ lastname though, especially with another "k" sound in the middle name. If that doesn't bother you, I say go for it!

i've heard it before and seen it only a handful of times. i like it! i also agree with pp about potential last name, if you're last name is mcdonald, then marek mcdonald sounds fine, even marek mckinley sounds fine too...i like it!

I've met a couple, but I've only seen it spelled "Merrick". I like it.

I like it, but agree with pp Marek Mc__ is a little akward. Marek is a really cool name though.

I love the name Marek. I had a camper named Marek once, he was the cutest thing ever. Axson is NMS. Jaxson would be cute. Marek Mc_ sounds good too, IMO.

I'm Polish too and know many Mareks but I think the name is dated. I associate it with a middle-aged guy.

It would bug me that the name would not get pronounced right. I would go with something universal like Sebastian, Julian, Adrian, Aleksander, Adrian, Dawid, Daniel, Konrad, Oskar. Choosing a name like this you get the English and Polish pronunciation.
