I had some time to kill this morning after I temped. Thankfully it's been a quiet night at work, so I got a decent amount of sleep. I clicked on the "tuning/override" button and changed it to "research" method...just to see what happened. The first time I did it, it moved my O date back two days, making me 6 dpo. I switched it back to advanced, answered a couple emails, and even posted on the 2WW thread. I then started this post, made the same switch, and it did not change my O date. (So, now, both research and advanced have me at 4dpo with the same coverline.)
What exactly *is* the research method, and what would have made it change me to 6 dpo for a brief period of time? 6 dpo would have had me ovulating the same day I got my first positive OPK, which doesn't sound right at all.
Just curious.
Re: FF: Research vs Advanced
I can't really answer your questions, but my brief knowledge of FF and charting it does look like the new O line is the correct date.
Based on what I read in the link below, the research method makes your chart an experiment for them to try new tools.
