Challenge accepted: What's a good baby gift...

for a fourth child? It is the first boy so I can throw in some clothes. She CDs and last baby we got her a gift certificate to buy Fuzzi Bunz. I might do the same again so she can buy some new, but besides clothes, diapers, and gift cards, what's something useful for a fourth child?

  • Vouchers for babysitting the older kids so mommy can have some 1 on 1 time with new squishy baby?

  • I would ask her if some of her original baby stuff is worn out or old. She may love to have a new stroller/swing, or something like that.

Wish I could do this but they live 1,000 miles away, unfortunately! I'm sure she'd love it, she has 4 kids age 5 and under (including 2u2 now). And she's homeschooling so she probably doesn't get many breaks at all.

I'll probably ask about the car seat, stroller, etc. They don't have a lot of money so I think a lot of what they have are secondhand or have been used for all kids (like the car seat) so maybe a new convertible seat would be good, especially since #3 should still be in one for awhile.

    Condoms?

*snort* I'd be tempted, believe me. They would never admit it but I suspect this baby was an oops. The others are all 2 years apart and now these two are about 19 months apart and I have a hunch she got KU while still breastfeeding. Honestly, they're nice people, but they're also the type to take whatever you give them with hardly a thank you in return. They never acknowledge DS with so much as a card and honestly I don't want to get them a big gift because it's not like we're rolling in dough, either, but DH wants to and since it's his brother and since we do plenty for my family for birthdays, etc, I have to accept that. :P  If it were up to me I'd just send some of DS' clothes and some new clothes since I know they don't have a lot of boy items.
