Wild Game Dinner?

So last week I found out I was pregnant and I rsvp'd a while ago to a Wild Game dinner. Now its this Friday night and I'm kinda worried about the options. Will the meat be ok as long as its well done or should I not even try it. Also, we aren't telling people we are pregnant yet so it'll look weird if I don't go to the event. Weird question, I know lol But does anyone have any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Re: Wild Game Dinner?

  • As long is everything is cooked properly and not raw you should be ok.

  • Um, I'm assuming the meat won't be served raw - yes, you can go.

  • I grew up on mostly wild game (elk, deer and boar instead of beef and pork) and we're all fine.  Just make sure it's cooked properly, just like any other meat, and you should be fine.

  • Ditto. As long as it's thoroughly cooked, I believe this type of meat to be safer than commercial meat.

  • in general wild game is better for you anyways, and as long as it's cooked properly you'll be just fine!  enjoy!!
