I am a pathetic mom.

DS has spent the last 30 mins screaming because he's overtired.  He finally sacked out in my arms, so I put him in the swing (turned off).  Well, he popped his eyes open and DD started reading him books.  Now, he is sitting there perfectly content (after I tried at least 5 times to put him down) and gurgling at DD.  My 3 year old is better at making DS happy than I am! ;-)

    You definitely aren't pathetic.  Whatever works!!! 
    I use my 13 stepson all the time with my girls.  Sometimes he has the *touch*.

    That's not pathetic, but I'd be happy for the relief that someone other than you make your DS happy.

    The fact that you have  1 month old and a 3 year old and can string a sentence together proves that you are not pathetic!   1 month olds are notoriusly fickle little people and completely irrational.
