baby shower gift / thank you's

i'm having two showers - one for family and one for friends.  i want to get the hostesses unique but affordable gifts as a thank you - any ideas?  i'd like to stay away from the typical lotions/candles...

 anyone have any creative ideas? :)

    I got my hosts an indoor plant. One an Orchid for her office the other was an indoor garden type thing. Both very cute and around 20 bucks each. They both really like them.

    I put together "shower" themed baskets for mine. I included fun smelling shampoo/conditioner sets from Etsy, a nice robe and slippers.

    If your showers have a theme you could go with a gift that aligns with that.

     

    EX: We threw a friend a tea party shower and her thank you hostes gift was individual tea party sets.
