Good websites for dads/coaches ??

Any recommendations for good websites for the dads/coaches who will be in the delivery room?  Anything geared to dads?

The childbirth class at our hospital was useless, and I'd like DH to review a good site for information about breathing & relaxation techniques.

  • Try MayoClinic.com. I have their book and there is a few pages dedicated to the coach. It gives suggestions and info that I'll have DH read in the next few weeks. Might at least be a place to start.

I'm not sure how well the book and website mirror each other, but if you search their site for birth coach I'm sure some good info will come up.

  • Thanks.  That is a good site.  I made the mistake of viewing the slideshow of the 4 degrees of tears.  Ugh.  But I was really curious and just had to look.
  • This is a little late, but I just wanted to add that it's good that you're trying to help DH feel prepared.  We didn't do or practice any breathing techniques beforehand with DD and DH did just great.  In fact, we didn't even go to a birthing class.  During L&D, the nurses we had were really helpful and told DH what to do.  IMO, you'll both forget what you were "supposed" to do and just get frustrated.  GL though, I know it feels better to be prepared.  Just my two cents.
