32 weeker & NICU time?

How long was your 32 weeker in the NICU for?

One of our girls came home at 3 weeks and our other little one is still in there at over 4 weeks now. Just wondering how long any fellow 32 weekers LO's stayed in the NICU and for what issues were they having?

My 33 weeker spent 12 days in the NICU, but every child is different. She mainly was a feeder and grower, spent three days on CPAP, had some jaundice, but that was mainly it. Congratulations on bring home one baby. Praying that your second little comes home soon.

Your girls are gorgeous!

My guys were born at 33w2d. They spent 15 and 16 days in the NICU. One had a pretty easy road and was a feeding and a grower and one couldn't kick the CPAP for around 10 days. He improved really quickly though and was a great eater.

Does your LO who is still there have any respiratory issues or is she just needing to feed and grow?

My LO was 34w2d and spent 21 days in NICU due to respitory distress and jaundice. GL to your LO

they are all different, she will be home before you know it!

Does your LO who is still there have any respiratory issues or is she just needing to feed and grow?

They both were in there just for feeding issues and growing out of their apnea spells. Brynn, our daughter still in the NICU is still on her NG tube for some of her feeds and randomly is still spelling.

One of my guys had the same thing. I bet she will be home soon. It must be hard to have one home and one in the NICU so hang in there.

Grayson was a 32 weeker. He was jaundice and on the nasal cannual for a day or so. He was mostly there to be a feeder and grower. He was in for 3 weeks. They are just now finding a heart problem that should have been caught at his two month check up....soooo...it really depends on the hospital and the drs and of course your LO!

Mine were 32w 6d. DD spent 25 days primarily as a feeder and grower (she didn't love the bottle at first! LOL) DS did 32 days due to the apnea spells. He could've gone home with his sister, but he had a spell that morning and that earned him another 5 days (he had a few more as well). I know it's so hard to wait and apnea spells are SO frustrating. Hope your DD comes home soon

Bowen was 32 weeks 4 days and had a 23 day NICU stay. We thought we were going home after 15 days, but Bowen had a temperature drop and the NICU then had a RSV scare.

My twins were born at 32w4d and spend 18 days in the NICU. They had CPAP for a few days, were under billi lights for a few days, and spend the rest of the time learning to feed.

My little girl was born at 32 weeks, 2 days. She was in the NICU for 24 days. On CPAP for a day, under the bili lights for about 5, and the rest as a grower/feeder

I'm new to this board and haven't shared my story yet, but I just wanted to tell you that I'm in a really similar situation. My twin boys were born at 32w 2d and are still in the NICU. I wish you the best of luck and hope that your other daughter comes home really soon!

My DS was born at 32 weeks and 2 days- was in the NICU for 3 weeks to the day. He was under the lights for jaundice, and was a feeder/grower. The only issue he left with was terrible reflux and constant spitting up after meals (he finally got over this at 18 months) and is now doing great.
