Confused re OPK

I have used OPKs for a few months but this is the first time I have ever had a positive- and fertility friend is confusing me.

Here is the situation; got a negative opk (I mean, not even a faint line) on day 15, day 16 got a positive in the AM, and positive again in the evening (around 5pm), then day 17 am got a negative, with a faint line. My fertility friend is marking the 16th as the day of ovulation. With no temping etc (I was getting obsessive, so I stopped this month...great...)

Could it really be the 16th like ff says? I thought it was supposed to be the day after a positive opk? We BDed  on day 16 in the early morning (before the positive) and again fairly late at night, so that would be awesome. I think I exhausted my poor husband though because day 17 we tried twice with no..uh....results; might try again tonight but I don't want to kill the poor man!

    No, FF is marking the 16th as the start of your fertile window.  Hence why the box next to it is also green.  A + OPK is telling FF that your body may be getting ready to O.  Without temping neither you nor FF hae any way of knowing if/when you O'd.
