I posted a few days back that IVF #1 was a BFN. We did a SET as we already have twins. Now we are preparing for a FET. We have 15 embies, so we are in great shape. My RE sort of hinted at doing 2 for the FET but said it was completely up to DH & I. So my question is, how many would others transfer?
We really want just one baby....but we were so heartbroken with our BFN earlier this week. I just really don't want to go through that all again. I hate that $$ is a factor, but we're just spending so much on this b/c we're OOP. I know in the long run, it's nothing compared to having twins...
We would be okay with twins again, although it would really changes our lives and would be really tough. I just wonder if doing 2 would increase our odds any. We could do another SET and then if that didn't work try 2 next time. Just really not sure.....
WWYD? TIA!!
Re: WWSAIFD? re: upcoming FET
Maybe do 1 SET FET, and then on #2 if need be go to 2 embies? Also you may find that they all don't thaw, so if they need to weed through some, that may give you an idea to try 2?
Personally, I would do a SET for the first FET. I would put two in either the second or third time around, if need be. Hopefully there won't be a need for a second or thrid one though!
I wouldn't plan too far ahead.. but I would only do one at a time.
Yes, BFNs are a PITA, cycling is a PITA... but none of that compares having the potential of dealing with 2 babies in the NICU with 2 toddlers at home.
4 Fresh IVF cycles + 1 FET where embies didn't survive the thaw = 2 perfect little men!
sFET 11/9/11 - Beta 11/18 BFP!
I wish we had done a SET in some ways. The twin ride has been tough. But at the same time, I can't imagine not having one of them. I guess if I didn't know any better. Anyway, the daycare costs of one year alone would have paid for a SET.
BUT, mine were frozen 2 to a straw, so that would have made the decision for me. I wish I had known to do them one at a time when they were frozen.
I am transfering 2, they are frozen in pairs, but I am okay with having twins again. I am ready to do all 4 after coming off a BFN and a c/p
