Trying to Get Pregnant

EWCM After O? (And Chart Stalk Please)

Anyone else have a lot of EWCM a few days after O? I know you can have the varying types of CM at all different points in your cycle, but I usually don't have much CM at all. I get some EWCM prior to O, but I have to check internally. I've never had it appear on the TP. But today, I've been having a lot of EWCM at what I think is a few days post O.

I'm still waiting on cross-hairs from FF, but I'm pretty sure I O'd earlier this week. (The open temp is because I temped 40 minutes earlier than usual.) My temp has definitely been spiking upward, I had my usual three days of O pain (Sat.-Mon.), and I'm experiencing my usual post O symptom of sore breasts. We'll go ahead and hump it out tonight just in case, but I'm just wondering (A) how common EWCM is just after O (I know it sometimes appears just before AF) and (B) if you think I O'd already.

 Thanks, ladies!

  • Yes, it can happen and even if it's not "normal" anything can happen from cycle to cycle.

  • I have ewcm from end of period to beginning of my period. I shouldn't complain but it's irritating.

  • I don't know about how common it is, but I do occasionally get EWCM post-O. It's not "a lot" like you say in your post, but it is there. It's usually just a few days after O, though, and not all the way through my cycle.

If your chart were mine (because I know my temps pretty well), I would guess that O happened on CD 14 or 15. I say that because, usually, my pre-O temps are in the 96-97 range and bump up to 98 only post-O.
I say "usually" because anything can happen to vary from that... I think my current cycle will stay low in the 97s for several reasons.

I sometimes will get a day or two of fertile CM after O. I read somewhere the reason for that, but I believe that it has to do with the hormonal shift. I usually will also get a day or two of fertile CM at the end of my LP. This is due to the corpus luteum (the cyst that develops on the ovary from which you ovulated that continues producing progesterone until the placenta takes over) breaking down in the case that you are not pregnant.

    All of this!

    Exactly this.
