baby dropped!

so last saturday, i started having pretty bad lower back pain & pelvic pain, which is odd because i have managed to get to this point with little or no complaints. I had a feeling the baby dropped b/c of the way I felt, but I wasn't sure. So anyway, I went to my MW appt yesterday and she confirmed the baby did drop! i read online that it *usually* drops 2-4 weeks before the baby comes. I wonder if that is true and I'll be having this baby early? I assume it's like most things, and doesn't mean anything about when the baby will come.

Re: baby dropped!

  • my baby dropped two weeks ago...     it feels better because I can breathe.. but I agree the back and pelvic pain is no fun!!!

  • I think, like most things, it's not a particularly good predictor of when the baby will come.  My stepmother's babies never "dropped" until she went into labor, and I have a friend whose baby "dropped" at 32 weeks and she went past her due date.  Sorry. :(
  • i had my shower on Saturday and my MIL said the same thing and my back has just started to hurt as well...
