Share your child's teething symptoms.

I didn't even think about teething causing Will's sleep issues.

It makes sense.  Last week he was running a fever and had a really snotty nose, things we had seen when his first molars were coming in.  He didn't have any other symptoms and was totally fine with a little Tylenol.

Re: Share your child's teething symptoms.

  • She wakes up at night...that's it.  I have literally looked in her mouth and found 3 new teeth that i never knew were coming.
  • DD gets a bit of a runny nose but mostly she doesn't sleep well (at night) and is soooo grumpy. Also when I brush her teeth she tries to back away, (I guess cause her gums are sore) which normally she doesn't do at all.
  • Loading the player...
  • restless sleep, runny nose, rash (sometimes), cough (especially when the uppers are coming in), crankiness.

Some people will say that these are not signs of teething, but actually a cold, I disagree.

  • With DD, sinuses were awful, runny nose, etc.  Restless & not sleeping & crabtastic at bedtime.

When DD's 2yr were coming in she was able to tell me her mouth/teeth hurt.  Would he know if you asked him?

  • Runny nose, waking up in the night, biting.

  • Disgusting diapers for a week

    Runny nose

    Bad sleep

    Drool galore

    Chewing/biting everything in sight

He has been a suckarific teether from the time his first 2 teeth showed up. I am SOOOOOOOOO glad that this molar was the last one. At least when his 6 year molars show up he will be able to tell me that his mouth hurts.

  • It varies, really. Usually he gets a light fever, drools, is somewhat cranky. If it's really bad, he'll have sleep issues--like getting up screaming in the middle of the night, and not wanting to go back down unless we're holding him. And diarrhea. Oh, and twice, he's gotten bad diaper rash. This last time it was so bad, his skin was raw and bled a little. We had to do the neosporin/hydrocortisone/lotrimin thing.
