So today I got some mott's applesauce and was wondering if this is ok to serve to my 6 month old? It does have High Fructose Corn Syrup in it but I didn't know if this is ok. It's ALOT cheaper than the tiny jars of baby food applesauce they sell so does anybody know if its ok? TIA
Re: Mott's Applesauce Question
They make an unsweetened kind...the ingredients say it only contains apples and water and a citric acid (for freshness) . I would look for that. It even comes in little cups. I would try to avoid high fructose corn syrup if at all possible.
Here is the kind we buy: It's the same kind my husband takes in his lunches for work.
You want the one that says Natural and no sugar added. But yes, much cheaper and wiser than buying the baby food!
I wouldn't give your LO the high fructose corn syrup.
making your own apple sauce is suuuuppppeerr easy too and WAY cheaper than either options. Maybe try that if you have a little time...
I agree, IMO I would only feed the organic applesauce with no sugar added...not the MOTT's with the additives...
This...i buy them and they're great! as long as DH doesn't take them all to work first!! or i just buy the large apple sauce jar (unsweetened) and keep it in the fridge for a few days
