Donation for Tripp question

I don't use Pay pal too often and want to donate and I just have a question for the moms on here that have donated.  I thought I read on the original post about the donation that if you selected that it was a gift then it would not charge you a fee.  I did select it as a gift and it charged me a fee.  I don't mind paying the fee but just wonder if this is supposed to happen.

 Thanks!!

Re: Donation for Tripp question

  • That is weird.  In general, if you select "as a gift" it shouldn't be charging you a fee.  I would call or write them with an attached screenshot of your receipt and ask them to remove.

  • Yeah.  I got charged the 88 cents.  I don't mind paying it but was just wondering.

  • I selected gift but didn't get charged the fee. I think the fee is charged when you use a credit card vs. having the payment come from your linked bank account. Is that how you all paid?

  • Ok, that makes sense.  I'll try to change it to a bank account.

  • It *should* be free if you're transferring from your bank account.  If you use your credit card though then I think they charge like PPs mentioned.  If you're used to using your CC in the past and not being charged, it's probably that you were buying an item from a vendor.  I think they are normally paying this fee for you in that case.

  • I did "other" and had the money withdrawn from my bank account and it did not charge me a fee...but, if I used my CC, it would have.
