Gastritis Update - Not Gastritis, Ectopic (repost)

Anyone else have to deal with a flare up of gastritis while pregnant?

Usually, I would take an antacid and Tylenol. I think I read that Tylenol is ok, but what else can I do? Any suggestions?

(my first OB appt. isn't until next week...)

Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

UPDATE: Well, posting here was short-lived, Turns out what I thought was gastritis that started up on Thursday was actually an ectopic pregnancy. Sunday night I passed out and got rushed to the hospital to find out that my right fallopian tube had ruptured and my stomach cramps were due to half of my body's blood supply flooding and clotting around my organs, I had emergency surgery, got 4 treatments of blood transfusions and two of plasma.

Now just trying to recuperate and mourn the loss at the same time.

Please make sure not to just brush off recurring pain when it happens...I thought I was just dealing with gas and typical abdominal pains and came within an hour of dying.

I wish the best of luck and health to you ladies and hope that your pregnancies are uneventful.

 Peace and love.

  • I'm so sorry for your loss, and for your pain.

It's good to hear that you're going to be okay, though. Thoughts and prayers are with you while you are dealing with this loss.

  • Wow!  I'm sorry that you had to go through that, and I'm sorry for your loss.  When I had my ectopic, I didn't have any pain.  I was on progesterone and had a little pink spotting.  I thought that I was just experiencing another miscarriage and the progesterone was hindering its progess.  Therefore, I went to my doctor and had an ultrasound.  He wasn't able to find a uterine pregnancy but knew my hCG levels should have been high enough to see something.  He kept hunting around and finally found the fetus with a heartbeat at the distal end of my left tube.  I was given the option of meds or surgery.  I decided to go with the surgery, and he was able to get it scheduled that evening.  It was a good thing that I chose that route because my tube had ruptured by the time I got into surgery, and my abdomen was full of blood.  I didn't have to have any blood transfusions but did leave the hospital anemic due to the blood loss.

I'm praying that you have a quick physical recovery.  I know that the emotional recovery will probably take longer.  Take some time to pamper yourself during this difficult time.
