1st Bday Party.....

Caleb is turning one tomorrow. I'm having a small party for his 1st birthday tomorrow and I'm stressing.... I decided I am not doing this again till later, maybe when he turns 5, idk.

How do you gals feel about the parties (if you are doing one)? And when will you do the next one?

I think I was a little stressed out, and it was hard to totally enjoy it. I dont know when we will have another party like that. Im sure it will be family only, until she starts having friend parties. Then I will want to jump off a bridge, I'm sure.

Happy 1st Birthday Caleb!!

We had a pretty big bash at a restaurant (about 50 people). I did a little everyday and it was a breeze since I had no mess to clean up before or after the party. I wish I could afford to do that ALWAYS.

However, I've decided next year is as immediate family as I am allowed (our family is HUGE and immediate typically means 30 - 40) with cake only or cake and pizza. I hope to get it down to 20.

I had a big party for Aiden's 1st birthday and we're having one for Emily's too at our house. I have a Christmas party every year too for kids and neighbors. It's always stressful and lots of work, but I enjoy it in the end. I'm glad to get people together and have a good time.

For Aiden's 2nd birthday last summer I just invited some neighbor kids and a few friends we do playdates with. I made a cake and asked for no presents. We ate cake and the kids played outside for a couple hours. It was very stress-free and lots of fun.

I'll have to be a little more creative for Emily's 2nd birthday because Iowa in January isn't generally a good place to play outside But I intend to keep the next birthdays low key with just friends.

Happy Birthday Caleb!  I hope the party went well.  We are having a fairly large party for this one, but next year I plan on having a smaller get together.  I don't even want to think about the bigger kids parties when he starts going to school.  Eek.

Caleb's party went well. I was worried that there wasn't going to be enough food, but there was leftovers, yeah!!! I made way to much cake.... anyone want to come over and take some, LOL. Yeah, but I'm definitely going to wait a while to do another "big" party, just doing family, till maybe 5... we will see.
