I was giving DD some lentils and carrots the other day. She loved them last time. In fact, she shouted when I didn't give them to her fast enough. This time she pursed her lips and turned her head. I believe strongly in not forcing her, so I said ok and left her alone. Later, I pulled out some grape tomatoes, and she grabbed them and self-fed. Hmmmm... I thought... Maybe she didn't want the lentils bc they smelled bad or she was full. No, none of those things applied. On her last tomato, she dropped it, and I picked it up to put it in her mouth. Again, she pursed her lips (which, really, is just adorable) and turned her head. I put it on her tray, and she snatched it up.
Long story longer, did your LO go through an independence phase around this age? Thanks in advance!
