Best Baby shower gift?

I have already given my cousin a few hundred dollars with of hand me down baby stuff (playpen, Bjorn, bags of clothes) This weekend she's having her baby shower and I'm thinking I will give her a gift for HER. What was the best gift you got at your shower?

(Maybe I should get her a gift for takeout/pick up or a target g.c. for diapers?)

You've already been very generous...it depends on how much you want to spend.  I think a gift card for takeout is a great idea.  Or one for a massage or pedicure would be nice too.  A target gift card is nice too, but it's not really for her...I never spend gift cards like that on myself.  If you want a gift that is not a gift card, maybe a comfy robe and some slippers for after the baby comes?

Maybe a magazine subscription and some nice slippers or combine that with a gift card?

After I had DD#1, a friend of mine mailed a baby gift and then a separate box for me - there were several magazines, a nice bottle of lotion and a pair of slippers. I still think of it to this day and how thoughtful it was.

The best shower gifts I got were gifts from mom's who didn't buy things off my registry, but instead bought things that they had found to be lifesavers and can't live withouts.  Things  I would have never thought to buy myself.

But if you want to do something just for her, you could do a gift card for a massage.    I got one of those and used it after the baby was born.  It was pure heaven.

The best baby shower gift I've ever got (other than the expensive travel system with matching playpen that I was dreaming about but could never afford- that my father surprised me with!) was my best friend staying with me for the first 3 weeks after delivery to do all my house work and defend me from visitors. She was AWESOME! I got to BF in my living room without worrying that a wellwisher was going to barge in, I got to hang out in a fluffy robe and fuzzy socks pretty much all the time, and she made dinner for us too (some nights my hubby did it). It was great because no only did I get that first 3 weeks to REALLY BOND with my baby, but having someone else there to worry about all the practical stuff (feeding our cats, reminding me to shower, telling people I was napping and I say thank you for whatever it was they were dropping off, and 3-5 was really the best time to visit, etc) really allowed my husband to bond too! Not only that, but we got to bond as a FAMILY, not just mom with baby and dad with baby. We got to lie around in bed cooing over him and giggling at his tight grip and mane of hair without worrying about having to "share" him with other family members. Of course, that takes a lot of dedication, but if you stopped in once a week to clean the bathroom, or drop off some frozen casserole dishes to have as dinner, that REALLY helps. Or- if she has this covered already... I think that a coupon to get a couples massage- her and her hubby- before the baby is born (some places have massage tables with a hole in them for the big belly, and they're trained so they don't massage your feet and hands- so they don't trigger labor) would be wonderful. To give them some romantic alone time (well- sort of alone, there would be two massage people...) to relax and reconnect- ooooh and then dinner afterward! Would be superb. A lot of people forget that the dad may be stressing out too, and there might be tension in their relationship over this HUGE change coming about in their lives. I think it would be really thoughtful to give a gift they can BOTH enjoy. Especially if it helps them to reconnect and enjoy one another- happy couples tend to make happy parents!
