may seem silly but....

08/09/08...our lucky numbers!

While my last period was 12/16 and i know that they count those first two weeks as "pregnant" i guess i feel kinda stupid considering myself 4 weeks pregnant when i know i didn't ovulate until 12/31. 

Am i just being overly analytical about this?  When you first found out you were pregnant how many weeks did you consider yourself?  Mind you -- i haven't had my dr.'s appt yet so maybe after that i'll be better.

its just the way they do it.  unles you know the moment of conception no one really knows how far along you are!

So I know from charting that I O'd on Nov 18 which resulted in this BFP.  My LMP was Nov 4.  I got my BFP 12DPO and considered myself 3w5d not 1w5d.  It is just by convention and is the reason that most women deliver at 38-42 weeks and full term is considered anything after 36 weeks.  You always add 2 weeks to O date to get how far along you are because that is what people are used to.  It's also why charting helps people who have long cycles to be more accurate from the start because if you O on day 28 of your cycle instead of day 14, LMP would put you at 6 weeks when you are really at 4 for example.

I just went by the weeks they told me even though it made it sound like I was pregnant before my wedding! I really did hate that but now I like it cause I feel like I have more done lol

I find it a bit silly if I think about it, too, but it is what it is. I go by my LMP, so I consider myself to be nearly 6 weeks; of course, it's the most accurate guess in my case, considering that I don't know for sure when I ovulated!
